Amato Research Center Dedication and Program Lyon County Museum\, 301 W Lyon St\, Marshall Thursday June 6\, 2024 at 6:00 PM From 6:00 to 6:30 PM\, attendees may tour the newly dedicated Joseph A. Amato Research Center on the main floor of the Lyon County Museum. At 6:30 PM in the conference room on the 2nd floor\, Joseph Amato will give the talk\, "How Southwest Minnesota Became Home. Forty Years of Living in and Studying a Place". The talk will be based on his forthcoming autobiography\, Spring of Springs\, one of recent treatments of self\, as he will explain. At the November 2023 board meeting\, the LCHS Board of Directors approved naming the research room the Joseph A. Amato Research Center in recognition of Joe's work in rural and regional history. Free will donation and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
