On October 21, the Lyon County Museum is opening a new exhibit, Where We Shopped and What We Wore: Retail in Lyon County, 1870-1965. This thematic exhibit will include artifacts, photographs, and history related to retail stores in Lyon County, with a special focus on general stores and department stores.
The exhibit will run for 2-3 years. However, this exhibit has a special rotating component that will change every month! The exhibit includes storefront windows, in which, displays will change just like stores did in the past and continue to do so today.
This exhibit was made possible with funds from the late Norman and Irene Timm estate.
